Mr. Roth is a graduate of the University of Florida, where he obtained his B.A. in Political Science. He then went on to attend law school at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center, where he was on the Dean’s List and earned the Book Award in Securities Regulations.

Mr. Roth is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts as well as all State Courts in the state of Florida.

Manny Lorenzana Esq.

Manny J. Lorenzana is an associate at the Shaked Law Firm. Mr. Lorenzana is responsible for overseeing and managing all cases at the firm. Mr. Lorenzana works with other members of the Shaked team to successfully prosecute catastrophic injury, medical malpractice, auto accidents, negligent security, accidental drowning, and wrongful death cases among other significant tort claims.

Manny Lorenzana was born and raised in Miami, Florida. After graduating high school, he began working part-time as a clerk at a prestigious Miami law firm; it was there he first met and began working with Sagi Shaked. Mr. Lorenzana quickly developed a love for the law and in particular personal injury, where he is able to help victims injured due to the negligence of others.

Manny received his bachelor’€™s degree in Criminology from Florida State University, where he made the Dean’s List each year and went on to graduate with honors in 2005. In 2009, Mr. Lorenzana received his Juris Doctorate from the Florida State University College of Law. During his time at FSU, Manny was a member of numerous clubs including the Student Body Association and the Spanish American Law School Association.

In addition to his achievements in academia, he worked at the Public Interest Law Center as a certified legal intern. Mr. Lorenzana graduated law school with honors and ranked in the top 18% of his class.

Loretta Guevara Esq.

Loretta Guevara is an associate within the Shaked Law Firm’s First Party Property Litigation Department. Loretta was born in Havana, Cuba and raised in Miami, Florida. After graduating high school, Ms. Guevara attended Florida International University where she graduated from the Honors College. Loretta earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Criminal Justice in 2013.

After graduating from FIU with honors, Ms. Guevara attended St. Thomas University School of Law where she once again graduated with honors in 2017. During her education at St. Thomas, Loretta acted as a Student Ambassador and was elected Managing Editor of the Journal of Complex Litigation. Furthermore, Ms. Guevara interned with Family Court Judge George A. Sarduy in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida and has worked at the U.S. Attorney’s office within the Southern District of Florida Civil Division.

Nicholas DeCapua Esq.

Nicholas DeCapua is a litigation/trial attorney in the Bodily Injury Department at Shaked Law Firm, P.A. He has been a civil litigation defense attorney for the past nineteen (19) years, having worked at some of the most prestigious defense firms, including Staff Counsel for State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company.

Nicholas has tried numerous cases to verdict and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge, including an intimate familiarity with the defense perspective and the workings of liability carriers and their claims professionals.

 

Mr. DeCapua was born in Brooklyn, New York and served in the United States Navy from 1986-1994, where he received numerous commendations and an Honorable Discharge. After completing his military service, Nicholas attended St. John’s University where he graduated with honors and received his Bachelors of Science degree. He subsequently attended Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, and received his Juris Doctorate degree.

Nicholas has been licensed to practice law in the State of Florida since 2000, handling catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases. He has significant experience in the areas of vehicular negligence, premises liability, negligent security and professional and medical malpractice matters.

Cory D. Lapin, Esq.

Cory is a trial lawyer with experience litigating catastrophic injury, medical malpractice, and product liability cases on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. Notably, he has litigated plaintiff’s cases that have led to record-breaking results across the country, including multiple $40+ million verdicts and a $1.5 billion settlement. Cory’s extensive experience litigating complex actions on behalf of both sides offers a unique perspective and value to the firm.

Cory has also written numerous legal articles spanning a diverse range of topics from medical malpractice to product liability, many of which have been published on Law360 and Defense Litigation Insider.

Cory graduated fourth in his law school class at Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center. In addition to graduating at the top of his law school class, he made the Dean’s List every semester, received both the Einstein Scholarship and Law Center Merit Scholarship, earned numerous highest-grade awards, and served as a junior associate for the Nova Law Review and the ILSA Journal of International and Comparative Law. Cory earned his undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Florida in 2011.

Steven M. Marks, Esq

Steven Marks is a Miami native who has lived, worked and raised his family in South Florida. Mr. Marks graduated in 1979 with a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law.  In 1976, he was awarded his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at the University of Southern California, magna cum laude, and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society.  Admitted to the Florida Bar in 1979, Steve initially entered the private practice of law in Miami as a sole practitioner.  He has tried significant Plaintiff negligence, wrongful death, commercial contract, and criminal defense cases before juries, and the bench, in State and Federal Courts.

The most recent of which was as lead trial counsel representing Florida Atlantic University, in a Whistleblower action, which resulted in a Defense jury verdict. He has handled mediations, and arbitrations in negligence, complex business, stock brokerage and real estate acquisition litigation; has tried and been a certified expert witness in property management litigation; handled all aspects of domestic relations mediation and litigation; county and city commission special use and zoning variance matters; authored partnership and trust agreements; handled probate matters; and negotiated employment contracts for numerous NFL players (two All-Pros) as an NFLPA certified player agent.

Steven Marks has been a member of the Florida Bar and American Bar Association for forty years. Mr. Marks was admitted to practice before The State of Florida 3rd District Court of Appeals, The Florida Supreme Court, The United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, The United States Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and also the Supreme Court of the United States of America. His current primary practice areas are Plaintiff major casualty cases; trucking and automobile catastrophic life altering injury or wrongful death cases; commercial business; and, sports law.
